About Me
I am a Licensed Psychologist (LP) and earned my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, an APA-accredited program, where I developed a strong background in evidence-based treatment. I completed my predoctoral internship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and my fellowship in Child/Pediatric Psychology at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine.
I have provided services across a variety of clinical settings including academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, university clinics, primary care, and a therapeutic day school. I specialize in working with children and adolescents. My interest and expertise are in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, OCD, ADHD, interpersonal difficulties, behavioral concerns, and stressors related to life transitions. I also specialize and have experience in supporting children and adolescents who are coping with acute and chronic health conditions (e.g., type 1 diabetes, IBS). I have advanced training in neuropsychological testing and comprehensive assessments for a wide range of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
I use empirically-supported treatments that include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Parent Management Training. My approach to therapy is collaborative, individualized, and goal-oriented. I enjoy using warmth, humor, and empathy to help clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, and gain the skills necessary to cope with life’s challenges. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, Texas Psychological Association, and the APA Divisions for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and Pediatric Psychology. When I am not at work, I enjoy running, cooking, and exploring restaurants in Houston with my husband.
