Rates are based competitively and are typical (in many cases lower) for the Katy area private practice clinicians. Rates also vary depending on the clinicians level of training and experience.
Initial Session: $185 60 minutes (can be billable through "out of network" benefits) The purpose is to go over case history, concerns, and to develop a treatment plan and give recommendations on the next step. This can include either therapy, an evaluation, or sometimes both. If an evaluation is recommended, the doctor will give you a price quote and you can determine if you want to proceed with testing. Generally, testing can range from 1-5 hours.
(All therapy sessions can be billable through "out of network" benefits)
Testing: $175 per hour (Ph.D., psychologists only do the testing). Rate includes number of hours needed for testing and report writing. (Psychological testing can be billable through "out of network" benefits". Educational testing (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD) is not billable under insurance).
The pricing for testing depends on the type of evaluation. Please call for rates so that the doctor can give you an accurate estimate based on what type of testing that you are requesting. We are happy to discuss this with you, so please call if you have questions!
Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, Cashier's Check, American Express, Mastercard, Visa, All Debit, AMEX, Discover (no personal checks). Health Savings Plans and Flexible Spending Accounts accepted as forms of payment (but you should verify with your plan).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT INSURANCE
Do you take insurance? We are currently out of network with all insurance providers. We can at your request provide you with a detailed medical receipt that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You are encouraged to check with your insurance directly to inquire about what is covered on your specific plan.
Why don't you take insurance? We are dedicated to providing quality care that is individualized for your specific needs. Insurance companies find ways to deny coverage for certain diagnoses or want to impose upon providers "limits" on number of therapy sessions, approve the "bare minimum" for testing, or deny coverage altogether if it does not meet a certain "medical" code even if it is an actual diagnosis in the DSM-5 or ICD-9 codes. Because we do not share your protected health information with anyone (unless you specifically ask us to in writing), your privacy is completely protected. For these main reasons, we opt not to be a part of any third party organization that substantially limits our ability to provide appropriate mental health services to our clients.
Note: Psychoeducational evaluations (testing for learning disabilities and ADHD) are not a covered benefit under insurance plans. Psychological evaluations (including testing for Autism) are usually covered but they may not cover the full amount of the testing cost. Every plan is different so we encourage you to check with your insurance about reimbursement rates.
