WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
The purpose of an initial visit is for the doctor to meet with your individually and discuss your concerns so that we can help to develop a treatment plan and provide you with recommendations on the next step. This can include either therapy, an evaluation, or sometimes both. If an evaluation is recommended, the doctor will give you a price quote and you can determine if you want to proceed with testing. Generally, testing can range from 1-5 hours. If therapy is recommended, we will talk with you about how many sessions we think will be most helpful, how often, and develop treatment goals with you. We will work with you as best we can to meet the needs of your budget.
COVID 19-UPDATE: We are currently holding initial appointments via teletherapy or phone call with one of our psychologists. Therapy services continue to be held online using a HIPAA compliant video software, or phone call). Testing/evaluations are done in person with a private appointment, to ensure that you are not in the waiting room with others. Clients must follow all local and CDC guidelines while in our office. This includes not currently being sick or around anyone who has for the past 14 days. Masks must be worn while in the waiting room. All late fees/cancellation penalties are waived during this pandemic so if your health situation changes, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
Services We Offer
TESTING FOR LEARNING DISABILITIES
We are a team of psychologists, experts in the field of child development, assessment, and diagnosis of conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia (reading, writing, and math disorders).
CHILD AND ADOLESCENT THERAPY
Children and teens have so much to deal with from academic and social pressures, to family conflict and navigating the changes of normal adolescence. Life can be hard and sometimes parents are not the ones children and teens turn to for advice, or a parent’s advice may be well-meaning but not helpful enough. Our child psychologists have extensive experience working with children and adolescents. We bring researched-based strategies that are effective in getting your child to framing life differently, and into problems that are much more manageable. Our therapeutic approach will always in involve parents with updates on their child’s progress and suggestions on what they can do at home.
When the life’s circumstances are too much to bear alone, we provide a supportive and professional ear to help guide you to a better place. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a research-based approach to treating anxiety and depression.
